So after Lockwood becomes sick at Wuthering Heights, he begs Nelly to continue on with her story of Heathcliff and Catherine.

So Catherine marries an Edgar Linton, even though she has secret feelings for Heathcliff and him the same for her. So one day he comes to Thrushcross Grange and when Catherine sees Heathcliff she immediately gets all excited and of course her husband notices becoming very jealous. Then her and Isabella, her sister in-law begin to visit him at Wuthering Heights and he begins to call at Thrushcross. Isabella ends up falling in love with Heathcliff even though she knows he loves Catherine but Heathcliff pays no attention to her. One day Nelly finds Heathcliff embracing Isabella and then Catherine makes him spill his guts about how he feels for Isabella. He then turns around ands tells her she has wronged him by marrying Edgar. Then Edgar and him get into a fist fight and Heathcliff leaves and Edgar then forces Catherine to pick between the two of them, she locks herself in a room an doesn't eat for a few days. After a few days Catherine basically goes crazy and talks alot botu death and mentions that her spirit will not rest until she is with Heathcliff.

Isabella then moves in with Heathcliff at his estate and this enrages Edgar. After Catherine recovers from her illness, she finds out that she is pregnant. One day when Nelly goes Heathcliff's estate to visit Isabella, Heathcliff begs Nelly to let him see Catherina, after threatening her, she finally decides to give a letter to Catherine from Heathcliff.

After giving the letter to Catherine and her and Heathcliff having a heart to heart, they finally forgive each other and she gives birth to a child named Catherin two months premature and Caherina, her mother, ends up dying and this hurts Heathcliff greatly.

Isabella then gives birth to Heathcliff's son, Linton and then moves away to London for twelve years. Heathcliff finds out where they both are but doesn't do anything about it. Isabella then dies when her son is 12 years old. Young Catherine who is now 13 years of age is smart and quick. He father, Edgar doesn't let her off Thrushcross, howveer when he learns of Isabella's death, he goes to London to retreive her son. Leaving Catherine in Nelly's hands ansd she is finally allowed to go explore and stumbles upon Wuthering Heights.
When Edgar comes back with Linton, Heathcliff comes asking for his son and Edgar agrees to bring Linton to him. When Linton arrives to Wuthering Heights, Heathcliff shows no affection towards Linton and talks adly about his mother. Linton begs to be taken back to Thrushcross but nelly leaves him there.
